These Terms and Conditions apply to information that we, Hand in Hand for Aid and Development, collect about individuals who interact with our organisation. It explains what personal information we collect and how we use it. The processing of your personal data is carried out by or on behalf of Hand in Hand for Aid and Development.

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION?
We may collect information about you whenever you directly interact with us. For example, when you: make a donation; when you register to volunteer; when you fill in a gift aid form; when you fundraise for us; when you use our website; and when you register for our newsletter.
We may also collect information about you when you use a third-party website with whom we work (for example, making a donation to us through PayPal or JustGiving).

Please note that all online financial transactions will be encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security), so we are not able to see or retain any of your financial details.
HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
We will only use your data in a manner that is appropriate considering the basis on which that data was collected, as set out in the table at the top of this policy.
For example, we may use your personal information to:
- reply to enquiries you send to us;
- handle donations or other transactions that you initiate;
- where you have specifically agreed to this, send you marketing communications by email relating to our work which we think may be of interest to you.
We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted. HOW DO WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION?
We take appropriate physical, electronic and managerial measures to ensure that we keep your information secure, accurate and up to date, and that we only keep it as long as is reasonable and necessary.
Although we use appropriate security measures once we have received your personal information, the transmission of information over the internet is never completely secure. We do our best to protect personal information, but we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to our website, so any transmission is at the user’s own risk. However, any payment card details (such as credit or debit cards) we receive on our website are passed securely to our payment processing provider according to the Payment Card Industry Security Standards.
HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
We take the principles of data minimisation and removal seriously and have internal policies in place to ensure that we only ever ask for the minimum amount of data for the associated purpose and delete that data promptly once it is no longer required.
WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION?
We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.
We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Hand in Hand for Aid and Development may provide your information to our service providers. Subject to your communication preferences and our internal policies and procedures, this would include providing your information to third parties that work with us to deliver on our charitable purposes.
WHEN WE SHARE YOUR DATA
We will only pass your data to third parties in the following circumstances:
- you have provided your explicit consent for us to pass data to a named third party;
- we are using a third party purely for the purposes of processing data on our behalf and we have in place a data processing agreement with that third party that fulfils our legal obligations in relation to the use of third party data processors; or
- we are required by law to share your data
In addition, we will only pass data to third parties outside of the EU where appropriate safeguards are in place as defined by Article 46 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Our website may contain links to other websites run by other organisations. This privacy policy applies only to our website‚ so we encourage you to read the privacy statements on the other websites you visit. We cannot be held responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites even if you access them using links from our website.
EMAILS
Emails are not always secure, and they may be intercepted or changed after they have been sent. Hand in Hand for Aid and Development does not accept liability if this happens. The contents of emails reflect their author’s views and not necessarily those of Hand in Hand for Aid and Development.

However, we also use some cookies that do not collect personal information but that do help us collect anonymous information about how people use our website. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website usage by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. The information collected by Google Analytics about usage of our website is not personally identifiable.
