SOS Idlib

Idlib is in dire need. Reports are emerging of hundreds of families having to live under trees after fleeing bombardment. The region has been under fire now for over 6 weeks, resulting in more than 400,000 Internally Displaced People, killing over 230 civilians, with at least 150 of those being women and children. The official death toll of children is currently at 89, and that is just official statistics - the reality is probably much higher. That's 89 young lives cut short due to the barbaric targeting by government forces, it's allies and rebel groups.

2.9 million innocent civilians, including one million Syrian children are trapped in Idlib. The UN predicts that up to 700,000 could be displaced if hostilities increase. These are people who have already fled the horrors of war in other areas, having been promised safe haven in Idlib and now have nowhere left to run.

One of the greatest humanitarian tragedies of all times is playing out before our eyes. The victims will be the Syrian children and vulnerable civilians who have already lost so much. As a leading Syrian charity we cannot simply stand by. Operating inside Syria for over eight years, we have unique access to hard to reach areas and help the most vulnerable of the displaced and refugees.

Our team is on the ground and ready to respond. We refuse to abandon the people of Syria when they need us the most. Civilians are in urgent need of food, shelter and humanitarian assistance, as thousands remain trapped with nowhere to turn to. Camps along the Turkish border are full, and many are having to seek safety in open farm land with the sky as their only shelter.

Civilians are always the first to suffer and the last to be considered in acts of war. Please support our campaign as we continue to operate in the province, providing critical medical care both along the evacuation routes and in the countryside areas, as well as shelter and non-food item distributions to those having to find safety for their families.

The attack on healthcare has already started. In the past week alone, four medical facilities have been shelled and barrel bombed, destroying ambulances and leaving one hospital fully out of service.
