Hand in Hand for Aid and Development (HIHFAD) was pleased to welcome Mr Fadi Al-Masalmeh, Director of the Directorate of Culture in Homs, and his accompanying delegation, to its office for a visit that celebrated the value of partnership and the shared commitment to supporting communities through cultural and humanitarian initiatives. During the visit, the Directorate of Culture presented an award of recognition to HIHFAD, represented by its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Faddy Sahloul, in appreciation of the organisation’s contribution to the success of the Syria Summer Festival and its continued collaboration with the Directorate. The recognition reflects the importance of bringing together cultural institutions and humanitarian organisations to create opportunities for communities to reconnect, celebrate their heritage and strengthen the social bonds that are essential to recovery.

For HIHFAD, supporting cultural initiatives is a meaningful extension of its humanitarian mission. While meeting essential needs remains central to its work, the organisation recognises that rebuilding communities also means restoring spaces where people can come together, share experiences and look towards the future with renewed hope. HIHFAD extends its sincere appreciation to the Directorate of Culture in Homs for this recognition and looks forward to strengthening this partnership through further initiatives that place people, community participation and cultural life at the heart of Syria’s recovery. Because rebuilding Syria is not only about restoring infrastructure and essential services. It is also about restoring the connections, shared experiences and sense of belonging that bring communities together.
