Knit for Syria

Over the years, we’ve received tens of thousands of knitted and crocheted items, made by our supporters from all over the world. We regularly transport the knitted and crocheted items to Syria where they are distributed to internally displaced people, or to children in our hospitals.

We accept donations of knitted and crocheted items all year round, and store them until we’re ready to distribute them as the seasons change.

Here are the items we can accept:

Feel free to knit or crochet in any colours you like. Please note that all items should be in a brand-new unworn condition. Please ensure no loose strings or pieces could be a hazard to young children. As we receive such a large quantity of knitted items each month it’s not always possible for us to provide photos of your knitted items in Syria, but keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page where we post photos of our work.

Unfortunately we are unable to collect knitted items, but we do have a warehouse you can send them to.

The address for posting your items to is Hand in Hand for Aid and Development, 15 Auckland Road, Sparkbrook, Birmingham, B11 1RH

Please note that your package will likely remain sealed until it arrives in Syria so if you would like to send a letter/note/cheque, please do so separately. Also, we request all items be packaged together to make it easier for our team in Syria to check the contents and distribute items appropriately.
